As well as the novels for which they are justly famous, many classic children’s authors wrote poems for children. Many of these poems were, in turn, set to music. Classic Children’s Songs presents a selection of the finest of these songs.

Writers represented include Edward Lear, Lewis Carroll, Robert Louis Stevenson, Rudyard Kipling (author of The Jungle Book), Hilaire Belloc, Kenneth Grahame, A A Milne (creator of the Pooh stories), Walter de la Mare, J R R Tolkien (author of The Lord of the Rings) and Spike Milligan.
